Dance to Health is a pioneering dance and exercise programme for older people. Weekly sessions combine evidence-based falls prevention principles with the creativity, energy and sociability of dance. The programme was devised by Aesop, a social enterprise and charity and is supported in Norwich by Age UK Norwich.
Dance to Health classes take place across the city. No dance experience is necessary and even if you require walking aids you can still take part.
Our classes are an affordable way to help you to get fit and improve strength, balance and flexibility, make new friends and reduce your risk of falling.
All classes are led by a professional dance artist and the sessions last up to 90 minutes with an extra 30 minutes for a well-earned cup of tea. Although we encourage participation in the whole session, you can do all or part of the session seated and if you feel yourself tiring, you can sit down for a rest.
People who already take part in Dance to Health tell us that they start to feel stronger after just a few sessions. You will be amazed at what you can achieve.
