Marion Day Centre intergenerational craft group meets every Wednesday afternoon during term time at the day centre on Marion Road in Thorpe Hamlet.

The group is run by one of our support workers and has been running at Marion Day Centre for the past 6/7 years.

Members of the group are joined by children from Lionwood Junior school every week in term time to reminisce, create artwork and interact and engage with each other. Subjects covered range from talking about seasons to discussions about society. Sessions often run in conjunction with the children's school syllabus.

Members of the group find that working together and bridging the generations is beneficial for all involved. Group members share their knowledge and the younger people learn about times gone by.

This is a dementia-friendly group for people aged 50+ and anyone who enjoys art or being a bit creative is welcome to join us. There is no charge to attend.

“I love coming to the group, I may not be able to see as well as I used to but being able to paint and create things has made me look forward to Wednesday afternoons”

Sessions run on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30-2.30 during term times. Please contact Alison on 01603 667944 or alison.bessey@ageuknorwich.org.uk to confirm dates.
