Woohoo! It’s here!
The New Horizon Experiment, a collaborative community-building game developed by the Norwich Good Economy Commission has arrived!
Over the next few weeks and months I will be setting up game playing events around Norwich, and also encouraging and supporting other people to set up their own game playing events, as a fun and engaging way to talk about what is important to people regarding community.
What things inspire people, what things are barriers. What do people care about?
The creative ideas and observations that come up through game-playing will be recorded and uploaded (via hash tags #NorwichGoodEconomy #JoinIn) to a NGEC Pinboard – an online exhibition space which gathers people’s thoughts and feelings around their community.
These events will be fun and relaxed, offering a space where people can explore and engage with the conversations they want about the Norwich economy and ideas of community.
If people want to set up their own game-playing event, that’s brilliant! I can support with materials, a video-camera to record the event and support with grant application if funds are needed in order to host the event. Just get in touch and we can chat!
As a follow on from these conversations, all types of artwork, narratives, and videos can form part of the OPEN DOORS collection, as pop-ups around Norwich in the Autumn, and as part of the OPEN DOORS exhibition at The Forum 28th Feb- 5th March – the story so far…
Please do drop me a line or call if you would like more info, to set up or play the game, or to get involved in any way.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
