Help to Claim
Help to Claim service can support you in the early stages of your Universal Credit claim, from the application, through to your first payment.
Help to Claim is a dedicated service from Citizens Advice. It’s free, independent, confidential and impartial. Trained advisers can help with things like how to gather evidence for your application or how to prepare for your first Jobcentre appointment.

How to access help?
You can contact an adviser through their free national Help to Claim phone service, call: 0800 144 8 444 or textphone: 18001 0800 144 8 444
Advisers are available 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
If you need a British Sign Language interpreter, call the textphone number. An adviser can arrange for an interpreter to translate for you over a video call.
