Join us and unlock a world of creative possibilities while supporting your mental and emotional wellness. Whether you are looking for a new hobby, a way to make your own clothes, toys, and homewares, or a means to de-stress, this course will provide you with everything you need to continue and progress your knitting journey.
Extend your Knitting skills to work in the round and unmask the mysteries of 'turning a heel'. Use your experience to follow a pattern (including charts) and create a finished item. This course is for intermediate knitting students, you should be able to cast on, knit, purl and cast off. We will be working on small scale samples to explore the construction and technique of sock knitting. You may find it easier to work in DK or even chunky yarn on the samples, with appropriate sized needles, you can choose wither DPN (double point needles) or circular needles, or both to experiment with. Once you are confident with the techniques used you can knit your own pair of socks using 4 ply yarn and smaller (2-3mm) needles.
