Our BSL Level 3 course is designed for learners who have already completed BSL Level 2 or have equivalent signing experience.
This course develops your ability to:
Communicate naturally and confidently in British Sign Language
Understand longer and more advanced signed conversations
Use advanced BSL grammar, structure, and facial expressions
Take part in discussions, debates, and presentations
Improve fluency, receptive, and productive signing skills
Build confidence communicating with a wide range of Deaf BSL users
Develop professional-level communication skills

What You Will Learn in BSL Level 3
The qualification is divided into three core units.
Unit 301 – Receptive Skills
You will develop your understanding of:
Longer signed conversations
Different signing styles and regional variations
Stories, discussions, and real-life communication
Advanced receptive and visual recognition skills
Understanding BSL used naturally by Deaf people
Unit 302 – Productive Skills
You will learn how to:
Deliver confident signed presentations
Express opinions, experiences, and viewpoints clearly
Use advanced BSL grammar and structure naturally
Improve fluency, clarity, and signing confidence
Present information professionally in BSL
Unit 303 – Conversational Skills
You will develop:
Advanced conversational signing
Greater understanding of Deaf communication styles
Natural interaction using BSL
Confidence in professional and social situations
The ability to discuss a wide range of topics fluently
