Join Hänsel und Gretel German Playgroup for a St Martin’s celebration on Saturday, 7 November 2026, at Chapelfield Methodist Church.
From 2:00 pm, we’ll gather for German food, coffee, cake and conversation, with a flea market and book swap. We’re a German playgroup, so German language and traditions are at the heart of the afternoon. All families are welcome, whether you speak German, are learning, or simply want to join in.
Please bring some food to share! Everyone contributes to our shared buffet. We’ll put together a sign-up list so we know roughly who is bringing what.
You are also welcome to bring books and other items to sell, swap or give away. Please bring small change for the flea market.
Around 5:00 pm, when it gets dark, we’ll walk together to Chapelfield Gardens with the children and their lanterns, singing traditional St Martin’s songs in German. Please bring a lantern or light.
We ask for a contribution of £10 per family to help cover the hall hire.
