St Augustine's Hall - A Village Hall in the Heart of the City

Large 'village hall' type space (maximum capacity 60) available to hire, depending on availability, Monday to Saturday (between 9 am and 9 pm) for clubs, meetings, rehearsals, exercise, martial arts classes etc. but not for celebration/social parties other than for children' birthday parties for children under the age of 12, which should be finished and cleared away by 4 o' clock (1600 hours). Please note the Hall is not usually available to hire on Sundays as it is primarily a place or Christian worship. It also closed for hire during the Christmas period. The Hall is not directly accessible by motor vehicle and does not have its own car park. Short-stay visitor parking spaces may be found on nearby streets (e.g. Sussex Street and Leonard Street). The Hall has free WiFi access.

The current hire rate is £16.50 for one hour, £30 for two hours and £12 for each subsequent hour of that day's hire. For children’s birthday parties there is a fixed fee of £50 payable in advance for a maximum of 4 hours, including set-up and clear away times. A returnable deposit of £10 is also required in case of any damage or if any extra cleaning is necessary. You are advised to read the Hall's terms & conditions before hiring.

N.B. new hire rates are effective from 1 September 2026: £17 for the first hour, £31 for two hours, and £12.50 for each subsequent hour of that day's hire period. Children's birthday parties a flat fee of £51.50 for 4 hours max.
