Parent Talk: Supporting Neurodivergent Children Through the Return to School

Starting a new school year can be an exciting time, but for many families it can also bring anxiety, overwhelm and uncertainty. These in-person parent talks are designed to help parents and carers of autistic children, children with ADHD, or those who may be neurodivergent feel more confident and prepared for the transition back to school.

Delivered by Neurominds, these practical sessions share evidence-informed strategies to help reduce stress, create calmer routines and support your child's wellbeing throughout the return to school. You'll leave with realistic, neuroaffirmative ideas that can be implemented straight away, along with a better understanding of why some children find transitions particularly challenging.

Whether your child has a diagnosis, is awaiting assessment, or you're simply beginning to recognise neurodivergent traits, everyone is welcome.

Suitable for: Parents, carers and family members of neurodivergent children and young people.

What you'll learn:

Why the return to school can be particularly challenging for neurodivergent children.
Practical strategies to reduce anxiety and support smoother routines.
How to create a calmer, more predictable start to the new term.
Ways to support both your child's wellbeing and your own.
You'll leave with some practical resources too.

We are offering two sessions Tuesday 11th August at Wymondham Central Hall, Wymondham and Wednesday 19th August at The Charing Cross Centre, Norwich
